Bard Theatricals is an award-winning company that produces shows both on and off-Broadway, as well as internationally. As the theater producing division of Bard Entertainment, a television production company specializing in arts programming and live events, we are dedicated to bringing bold new works to the stage.
As partners in Bard Theatricals, Annette Jolles, Laurence Holzman, Lara Holzman, David Stern, Jim van Bergen, and Linda Hamil are currently represented on Broadway with Mrs. Doubtfire, the new musical based on the popular Robin Williams film, and Jagged Little Pill, an original musical inspired by Alanis Morissette's groundbreaking album. Off-Broadway, their long-running comedy hit, The Play That Goes Wrong, continues to elicit uproarious laughter.
Past productions on Broadway have included the recent revival of Fiddler on the Roof starring Danny Burstein; David Mamet's China Doll starring Al Pacino; Kander and Ebb's provocative musical The Scottsboro Boys; David Mamet's The Anarchist with Patti LuPone and Debra Winger; and Matthew Lombardo's comedy Looped starring Valerie Harper as Talulah Bankhead. Bard was also on the producing team of The Scottsboro Boys in London (Young Vic and West End) and the Latin American premiere of El Chico de Oz.
Bard has produced several original off-Broadway shows, including the interactive Overheard at Joe's and the premiere of the original holiday musical That Time of the Year (cast recording, JAY Records), as well as the New York Musical Theatre Festival productions of The Jerusalem Syndrome and Wallenberg.
Bard is the recipient of multiple Tony and Drama Desk nominations, and winner of the Evening Standard Award, the London Critics Circle Award, the Audience Choice Award, the Theatre Fans Award and the Premios Luces Award.
